King of Kayak

Think you have what it takes to be the King of Kayak? Compete in all Tuck Fest kayak events (Whitewater Enduro, Boatercross, Freestyle, Flatwater kayak, Citizen Slalom) to vie for the coveted title. Points will be awarded in each race according to finishing order (first place is awarded 1 point, second place is awarded 2 points, etc…) with the lowest overall score being crowned the King.

Mandatory pre-race check-in and pre-race meeting will take place at the Kayak Center 30 minutes prior to the race.

Boatercross Race

This single elimination, head-to-head kayak race will take place down the class III and IV rapids of the Competition Channel. Each competitor is guaranteed one timed run down the Competition Channel with a minimum of 3 mandatory gates, with up to 6 boaters participating in each heat. Head-to-head runs will follow based on rankings from timed runs, with the fastest competitors advancing to the next round.

For all whitewater races, participants must have prior experience on similar whitewater in the same discipline (kayak or SUP). Participants must provide their own equipment.

Boats must be plastic and no longer than 9ft, C1s and K1s will race in the same category.

Baker’s Dozen Kayak Race

The Baker’s Dozen Kayak Race race will test the strength and speed of each participant on the world’s largest manmade whitewater river. This mass-start race will begin in the upper pond. Boaters will complete 13 laps on the Wilderness Channel as quickly as possible while racing head-to-head.

For all whitewater races, participants must have prior experience on similar whitewater and provide their own equipment.

Mandatory pre-race check-in and pre-race meeting will take place at the Kayak Center 30 minutes prior to the race.

Boats must be plastic and no longer than 9 feet, C-1’s and K-1’s will race in the same category.

Freestyle Kayak

The freestyle kayak competition will be held at a feature along the whitewater channels determined on the day. Each competitor will be allotted three 45 second rides to display their best routine. Boaters will be judged on completed moves, style, and bonus trick points.

Citizens Slalom

Ready to put your hard earned slalom skills to the test? Jump in on the Citizens Slalom race for a test of your whitewater slalom skills. This timed event will include upstream and downstream gates along the USNWC’s freestyle channel. Recreational and slalom boats welcome. This race will also serve as the Southeast regional slalom qualifier. For more information on the selection criteria, please visit the USACK website.
