Kids Obstacle Challenge

Come out and compete in a youth-friendly environment at the Kids Obstacle Challenge. This self-timed competition challenges kids to complete the USNWC’s Obstacle Challenge course along the Wilderness Channel. Featuring 10 varying obstacles, this race puts youngsters’ speed and strength to the test. Kids will finish the race by climbing to the top of the knot rope and ringing the bell. Active parental support and timing are required on the course. Participants must be over the age of five. The Kids Obstacle Challenge begins at the times listed below for each day; however, times must be turned into the Tuck Fest Festival Info/Packet Pick-Up area by the close of each day.

Thursday, April 19 – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Friday, April 20 – 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
Saturday, April 21 – 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Sunday, April 22 – 10:00 am – 1:30 pm

Challenge will take place at the Long Point Obstacle Challenge Course.

Twilight Obstacle Race

The sun is going down, but the fun is just beginning. Test your strength and coordination before and after sunset while attempting to complete this scavenger-type race. Teams will be challenged to find and complete the obstacles, which will be spread throughout our facility. Teams must start together, complete each obstacle together, and finish together. A good team strategy will be necessary as obstacles can be completed in any order within the two and a half hour time frame (projected sunset is 8:00 pm). The most obstacles completed in the shortest time wins. Teams must be comprised of two to five members.

Thursday, April 19 – 6:30 pm

Race will start and finish at the Ridge Pavilion.

Sport Adventure Race

This year’s Tuck Fest Sport Adventure Race will take teams of two people through a series of checkpoints as you run, bike, paddle, and navigate your way through the USNWC trail system along the Catawba River. The sport race, with a seven hour cut-off time, will include checkpoints throughout the property featuring a higher degree of difficulty than the sprint race. The team that completes the most checkpoints in the least amount of time will be crowned champion. (Mountain bikes provided by participants. Boats, PFD’s, and paddles provided by the USNWC.)

Friday, April 20 – 8:00 am

Race will start and finish at the Ridge Pavilion.

Sprint Adventure Race

This year’s Tuck Fest Sprint Adventure Races will take teams of two through a series of checkpoints as you run, bike, paddle, and navigate your way through the USNWC trail system along the Catawba River. The sprint race will feature checkpoints across the property with a three hour cut-off time. The team that completes the most checkpoints in the least amount of time will be crowned champion. (Mountain bikes provided by participants. Boats, PFD’s, and paddles provided by the USNWC.)

Family Obstacle Race

Families put their teamwork to the test at the Family Obstacle Race, a scavenger-type race throughout the USNWC property. Teams must start together, complete each obstacle together, and finish together. A good team strategy will be necessary as obstacles can be completed in any order within the one and a half hour time frame (projected sunset is 8:00 pm). The most obstacles completed in the shortest time wins. Teams must be comprised of two to five members.

Friday, April 20 – 6:30 pm

Race will start and finish at the Ridge Pavilion.
